Since its founding, Wooster has sought academic excellence and a diverse student body, while emphasizing community responsibility and spiritual growth. The college preparatory curriculum provides a grounding in the basics of liberal education, while offering enough flexibility for individual interests. Special programs include Advanced Placement, a year abroad in France or Spain, independent study for seniors, individualized college guidance, and extensive fine arts and music offerings. Students may participate in such extracurricular activities as team sports, music, art and publications. All pupils, under the direction of the senior class, are accountable for the daily maintenance of the campus. Boys and girls satisfy the following community service requirements: 15 hours in grade 6, 7 or 8, then 100 cumulative hours in grades 9-12.
