This long-established international Christian school's enrollment reflects a mix of North Americans, Indians, other Southeast Asians and students of other nationalities. The curriculum, which is college preparatory, offers US College Board and IGCSE exam preparation. Electives include such offerings as drama and art. Woodstock also maintains a strong music program. Emphasis is placed on the intercultural program, which features course work in Hindi and special instruction in Indian music and dance. Students have made many field trips to noted cultural and tourist centers in India. Set on a hillside on the first range of the Himalayas at an altitude of 6500 feet, the school offers ample opportunities for outdoor pursuits. The academic year begins in late July and ends the following June, with a two-and-a-half-month vacation taken during the Himalayan winter from December to February. Woodstock was until 1976 under cooperative missionary management. Now it is a registered Indian Society whose members are chosen from the parent body to represent American and Indian interests, in addition to those of other nations represented at the school.
