Woodland Hall, a division of the Dyslexia Research Institute, accepts children of average or above-average intelligence who have been diagnosed with dyslexia, attention deficit disorder or a related learning difference such as Asperger's syndrome. Math, reading, language, sensorial and perceptual skills are emphasized in the primary classes. A basic college preparatory curriculum is followed in the highly structured, nongraded advanced program. Parental involvement is an integral part of Woodland's program. In addition to academics, the program emphasizes positive self-concept development, self-control, organizational skills, and acceptable social and behavioral adjustment. Pupils may undergo diagnostic testing and may attend one-on-one tutorial sessions. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Aphasia, Apraxia, Asperger's Syndrome, Auditory Processing Disorders, Discalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Learning Differences, Multiple Disabilities, Neurofibromatosis.
