The academy provides year-round care for dually diagnosed children while maintaining a 2:1 staff-student ratio. Patients with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities and psychiatric diagnoses receive academic training and interdisciplinary treatment. Whitney also conducts a program that serves both sex offenders and victims of sexual offenses. Counseling and individual and group therapies are available, and the average length of stay is two years. The school accepts the following conditions: Anxiety Disorders, Asperger's Syndrome, Conduct Disorder, Emotional Disturbances, Intellectual Disabilities, Mood Disorder, Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Psychosis, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Sexually Abused, Sex Offender, Schizophrenia.
