Westwood was founded under the joint sponsorship of the British and American governments, in collaboration with several local companies and the Botswana Ministry of Education. The elementary and secondary curricula facilitate transfer to or from American, British or other international schools. Young children follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program, while middle schoolers prepare for the IGCSE examinations. In the upper grades, students work toward the IB Diploma. An active after-school program comprises competitive athletics, clubs and interest groups.
