WEC follows a behavioral approach in providing year-round therapeutic education for children with emotional problems and preparing them for regular public schools or sheltered workshops. Individualized academics, therapy, prevocational work activities and functional living activities are part of the program. Time is allotted for enrichment activities such as French, horseback riding, Scouts and the school newspaper during the school day. The average length of stay is three years. The school accepts the following conditions: Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, Down Syndrome, Emotional Disturbances, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Tourette’s Syndrome.
