Westchester Country Day School
2045 N Old Greensboro Rd, High Point, NC 27265
Westchester serves High Point, Greensboro, Winston-Salem (the Triad) and neighboring communities. Located in a country setting, the school's 53-acre campus in Davidson County is accessible to the varied educational opportunities and facilities of the Triad. The program at Westchester follows the classical liberal arts tradition of academics, athletics and the arts. The lower school curriculum (grades K-5) combines work in the core disciplines with foreign language, art, music, library science, computers and physical education. Middle school boys and girls (grades 6-8) move from the self-contained classrooms of the lower school to a departmentalized setting that emphasizes self-discovery and mastery of either French or Spanish. The broad liberal arts program in the upper school (grades 9-12) provides opportunities for specialization and enrichment. Both honors and Advanced Placement courses are available to qualified upper school pupils. Community service begins as early as grade 5 and continues through middle school, at which level each student chooses a month-long project. To fulfill a graduation requirement, all seniors plan, complete and report upon a weeklong project.
