Located on a 350-acre campus, Waterford serves students with mild to severe emotional and learning problems through year-round treatment. Diagnostic-prescriptive techniques are used in the on-grounds school to match each child's program with his or her needs and abilities. Tutorial speech and reading assistance is provided, and there is an opportunity for work experiences both on grounds and in the community. A day school option is available for students not requiring intensive residential care. Psychiatric and psychological services are integrated into the entire program and are available on individual, group and crisis bases. The recreational program includes sports, social activities and hobbies. Arts, crafts, music, farming, horseback riding, swimming and physical education are part of this program. The usual length of stay is 12 to 14 months. Actively psychotic and severely acting-out students are not accepted. The school accepts the following conditions: Emotional Disturbances.
