Walworth Barbour American International School in Israel
65 Hashomron St, PO Box 484, Even Yehuda, 40500 Israel
Located in a residential community about 12 miles north of Tel Aviv, AIS was founded under the guidance of the American embassy in response to a local need. Students, many of whom are American, follow a traditional US-style curriculum. College preparation and individual attention are emphases of the program, which prepares graduates for higher education in the US, Israel and other countries. Formal Hebrew instruction begins in grade 3, and French and Spanish later join the curriculum. Seniors complete a required research project and oral presentation.
