The John G. Wood School offers academic and transitional services to students with a history of behavioral, social/emotional and learning difficulties. Boys and girls may exhibit poor motivation, poor impulse control, short attention span and withdrawn behaviors. The curriculum, which meets state standards, comprises a broad range of middle and high school courses in the traditional subject areas. Independent study opportunities and GED preparation are also available. Students have access to both individual and group therapy throughout the week. The school accepts the following conditions: Anxiety Disorders, Asperger's Syndrome, Conduct Disorder, Emotional Disturbances, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Differences, Mood Disorder, Multiple Disabilities, Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Pervasive Development Disorder, Speech/Languague Impairments, Substance Abuse.
