University School of Milwaukee
2100 W Fairy Chasm Rd, Milwaukee, WI 53217
USM resulted from a 1964 merger of Milwaukee Country Day School, Milwaukee Downer Seminary and Milwaukee University School. The school occupies a 131-acre campus in suburban River Hills. The lower school program (grades pre-K-4) integrates the core subjects—language arts, mathematics, social studies, science and world language—with the visual arts, music, dance, technology and daily physical education. Writing across the curriculum, the development of study skills, and the continuation of language and technology offerings are features of the middle school curriculum (grades 5-8). Academics in the upper school (grades 9-12) focus upon college preparation, and students at this level may enroll in Advanced Placement courses in all major disciplines. Travel abroad programs are available both during the school year and over the summer.
