The York School

1320 Yonge St, Toronto, Ontario, M4T 1X2 Canada

York places particular emphasis on literacy, arithmetic computation, critical thinking, research, problem solving and communication. Integration of computer technology enhances the curriculum. Strong programs in art, music and physical education complement course work in the standard subjects. Graduates of the international program receive the widely accepted IB Diploma. All students in grades 9-12 purchase laptop computers to be used across the curriculum on a daily basis. The curriculum is supplemented by day trips to sites in Toronto and, beginning in grade 4, overnight and weeklong excursions to the school's outdoor education campus north of the city.
