The Woolman Semester

Conducted on a 230-acre campus in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Woolman Semester is an intense, 16-week academic program for 16- to 19-year-olds that focuses on peace, social justice and environmental sustainability. Students spend the morning attending classes, then devote the afternoon to hands-on work in the garden and orchard, the kitchen and the forest. All boys and girls take the following inquiry-driven core courses: world issues, peace studies, humanities and ethics, and environmental science. Foreign language and math classes are available as independent study options.
