The Williams School
182 Mohegan Ave, New London, CT 06320
Williams’ college preparatory program emphasizes critical-thinking and research skills, as well as student and teacher collaboration during the learning process. Pupils follow a seven-day rotating schedule—with major subjects meeting six of the seven days—that allows for variety, flexibility, and time for work on individual or group projects. The curriculum balances traditional humanities offerings with those in math and science. A particularly strong arts program commences with theater, music and dance courses in grades 7 and 8, and juniors and seniors may enroll in a digital film course. Technology education begins during the middle school years. Honors and Advanced Placement courses and independent study opportunities provide additional challenge for qualified older students. All students take part in an advisor program that enables boys and girls to receive assistance with their academic, social and personal needs.
