The Vanguard School

22000 Hwy 27, Lake Wales, FL 33859

Vanguard provides an individualized program for students with dyslexia, attention deficit disorder and other learning disabilities through a combination of classroom instruction and individual tutorial sessions. Structured classes emphasize organizational skills, study habits and the acquisition of fundamental academic skills. The core subjects of reading, language arts and mathematics, complemented by science and social studies, form the basic curriculum. Spanish language study; American Sign Language; and electives in the creative, performing, culinary and industrial arts complete the program. Two diploma programs are available in the upper school: one geared toward college-oriented academics, the other focusing on career-oriented practical studies.
