The Piedmont School

Students enrolled in the school program attend either full- or part-time. Participants receive remedial attention for basic academic skills and work to perform to academic potential at this school. The goal is to return the pupil to a regular school in two to three years. Individualized instruction and a student-teacher ratio of no more than 5:1 are provided for reading, writing, language and math instructions. Full-time students receive instruction in science, social studies, art, drama, physical education, computer studies and social skills in groups of no more than 10 children. Piedmont also offers assessment and one-on-one tutoring services for students from grade 1 through college. Areas of concentration in the clinic are reading and comprehension, written language, math, study skills, homework assistance, and high-school-level math, literature and writing. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorders, Discalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Learning Differences, Nonverbal Learning Differences.
