The Lab School primarily serves children of average to superior intelligence who have language-based learning disabilities and attentional disorders. The arts are central to the curriculum, and teaching methods are differentiated, experiential and multisensory. In the lower grades, the school's Academic Club Method utilizes visual, concrete activities to present topics in history, geography, civics, archaeology, literature and economics. High school students complete 100 hours of required community service prior to graduation. The elementary division operates on Foxhall Road, with grades 5-12 conducted on the Reservoir Road campus.
