The Kew-Forest School

Kew-Forest was founded by Louis D. Marriott and Guy H. Catlin. In 1941, upon the retirement of Mr. Marriott, the school was incorporated by the parents. Attracting students from throughout Queens County and Long Island, the school stresses college preparation and sends graduates to leading colleges. Activities include performance groups, media and academic teams as well as a competitive athletic program for boys and girls in the middle and upper schools. An outdoor education program is incorporated into the middle school, and an active field trip program serves students in the lower and upper schools. Kew-Forest takes juniors and seniors on college visits. Students satisfy the following community service requirements: 10 hours per year in grades 7 and 8, 20 hours in grade 9, 30 hours in grade 10, and 40 hours a year in grades 11 and 12.
