Ivymount provides therapeutic education for children with such disabilities as developmental delays, speech and language deficits, learning disabilities, health impairments and autism/pervasive developmental disorder. Through early diagnosis and individualization of programs geared to the child's learning style, the school attempts to improve the client's social and emotional health, as well as his or her intellectual potential. The areas emphasized are sensorimotor functioning, visual/auditory perception and processing, language development, academic skills, functional living skills, social behavior and emotional development. In most cases, the sending school district covers tuition expenses, but some families pay private tuition. The school accepts the following conditions: Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Differences, Pervasive Development Disorder.
