Founded in Rome as St. Michael's Country Day School, this school offers elementary and secondary education to children of local and expatriate families. American and IB curricula are available, with all three International Baccalaureate programs in place. In addition, ISF conducts junior and middle school programs for native and nonnative Italian speakers. For English-speaking students, Italian language is taught at all grade levels, beginning in grade 1; French is introduced in grade 6. Supplementary courses include music, art and computers, as well as sports activities and journalism. The junior school occupies a separate campus in Bagno a Ripoli.
