The House provides children and families with the treatment, education and support services designed to help them succeed individually, within the family and as part of the community. Tilton School, the 12-month special education day school that forms an integral part of the overall program, consists of two divisions: Tilton East, for children ages 6-13 (grades 1-8), and Tilton West, for teenagers ages 14-18. Educational support services for all students include occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and a learning center. Aside from the educational program, HGS operates two group homes, two boarding homes, a residential treatment center and a residential treatment facility. Preventive, aftercare, diagnostic, emergency housing, nonsecure detention and foster care services are also available. Referrals come from public agencies. Both residential and day service programs operate year-round, with the usual duration of treatment being six to 12 months. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, Conduct Disorder, Emotional Disturbances, Mood Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, School Phobia, Tourette’s Syndrome.
