The Heritage School
2093 Hwy 29 N, Newnan, GA 30263
Situated on a 62-acre campus in the midst of a pecan grove, the school serves students from Coweta, Fayette and surrounding counties. The integrated lower school curriculum immerses children in a historical period, thereby integrating the cultural perspective of the time with the study of geography and the applied arts. The middle school, which serves as a transition between the lower and upper schools, combines work in the traditional subjects with a strong outdoor education curriculum that incorporates a climbing tower and off-campus adventure trips. The upper school stresses the liberal arts and character education while preparing students for college entrance. Computer, language, music and art classes begin in kindergarten and continue through grade 12. The foreign language sequence, which also begins in kindergarten, requires students to study three languages: French, Spanish and Latin. Middle and upper schoolers engage in Heritage's weeklong interim program each fall. Middle school students embark on field experiences related to the outdoor education curriculum. Freshmen take part in a curriculum-based trip, sophomores perform community service, juniors tour nearby college campuses and seniors go on a retreat to St. Mary's/Cumberland Island.
