The Gow School The Gow School

The school was established by Peter Gow as a college preparatory institution for those with dyslexia or similar language learning differences. Although primarily a boys' boarding school, Gow maintains a small day division for pupils of both genders. All programs are individually planned, and nearly all graduates enter college. The school serves students of average to above-average intelligence who have specific language difficulties. Classes are small, averaging three to seven pupils each. The core of the program at Gow is "reconstructive language" and multisensory mathematics, both of which are designed to improve and extend the student's academic ability within a college preparatory setting. Boys and girls attend classes six days each week. An Outward Bound-type outdoors program is one of Gow's activities.
