The Country Day School
Apartado 1139, 1250 Escazu, Costa Rica
CDS follows a US curriculum that provides preparation for the US College Boards. Students are predominantly North American, with lesser numbers coming from Europe, Asia and Latin America. Spanish instruction begins in elementary school, when children are placed in a class appropriate to their proficiency. Students in grades 9 and 10 take a sequence of special courses including art and music appreciation, physical education, speech, and vocabulary development. High school students may pursue either a traditional US diploma or the Costa Rican Baccalaureate. Students who are strong in math may take part in an honors sequence. The school's location in the Central Valley lies about four miles from the center of San Jose.
