The Blue Ridge School
273 Mayo Dr, St George, VA 22935
Founded as an Episcopal mission school, Blue Ridge reorganized as an independent boarding school and adopted its current focus in 1962. The school provides a college preparatory education for capable boys who are suited to a program that incorporates small classes, a faculty advisor program, and a predictable daily schedule designed to help students develop sound study habits and time-management skills. Sufficient flexibility is built into the program to allow instructors to work with the student's strengths and needs. A learning center provides additional academic support as needed. Occupying 751 acres on the eastern slope of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the school's campus is accessible to Charlottesville, Richmond and Washington, DC. Blue Ridge's outdoor program provides opportunities for hiking, camping, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing and ropes work. The athletic program, in which participation is mandatory, accommodates all ability levels. Each student attends chapel services two mornings a week and on Sundays.
