TAISM enrolls expatriate children from dozens of nationalities into a US-style program that accounts for differing student abilities. Serving boys and girls from age 3 through grade 2, the early childhood program focuses on cognitive development, fundamental motor skills and language development. In grades 1 and 2, the school supplements classroom instruction in language arts, science, math, social studies and technology with specialist-taught classes in art, music, physical education, foreign language and library skills. During the elementary years (grades 3-5), the curriculum builds upon the foundation established in the earlier grades, with particular attention paid to analysis and critical thinking. Pupils gain responsibility at this time, as they receive homework assignments and complete extended projects. The transitional middle school (grades 6-8) follows a developmentally appropriate, interdisciplinary program that is organized around broad themes. Emphasizing college preparation, the high school years include elective course work in art, music, physical education and technology. A well-developed Advanced Placement program allows students in grades 11 and 12 to pursue accelerated study in the major disciplines.
