St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School is an independent, co-educational day school, which provides intellectual, spiritual, and personal growth for 440 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade in a caring, Christian community. With a commitment to the whole child, St. Mary’s emphasizes fundamental skills within a broad range of disciplines. The school offers students the opportunity to achieve by providing a highly qualified faculty, rigorous academics, and well-balanced arts and sports programs, with the expectation that students can and will achieve their best. St. Mary’s accelerated curriculum includes Language Arts, Novel Study, Grammar, and Writing Workshops; Advanced levels of Math; Social Studies, Geography, Cultural Studies, and History; Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Science, and Global Awareness; Latin and Spanish; Religion; Physical Education; Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Music, Public Speaking, Community Service, and more. Technology is integrated into the curriculum at all levels, and each classroom is equipped with computers, an interactive Smartboard, and iPads. Middle school students produce a morning news show in the video production studio. Educational and recreational field trips to local museums, theaters and attractions commence in Pre-Kindergarten, and older students enjoy overnight field trips including Sea Camp and a senior trip to Washington, DC. Specific character-development goals include integrity, self-discipline, self-motivation, good citizenship, friendliness, and a love of learning. Each year students carry on the St. Mary’s tradition to ‘Learn ~ Love ~ Lead’ by earning academic and athletic awards, some at the national level.

Religious tradition follows that of the Episcopal Church, however children of many denominational backgrounds attend St. Mary’s. The school is governed by its own Board of Trustees. Parental involvement is welcomed and encouraged. St. Mary’s does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ethnic background or financial need. St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools and the Florida Kindergarten Council.
