Founded by the Capuchin Franciscans, SLS prepares Catholic boys academically and spiritually and for a life in the Church as laymen, deacons, brothers or priests. College preparation is paramount, and the school conducts a program of advanced study with Marian University that provides dual-credit opportunities in literary genres, modern world literature, calculus, chemistry and US history. Boys satisfy the following community service requirements: five hours freshmen year; 10 hours sophomore year, including at least one off-campus project; 20 hours junior year, at least half of which must be performed off campus; 30 hours senior year, at least half of which take place off campus.
