Sponsored by the Diocese of Allentown for children, adolescents and young adults with intellectual disabilities and other developmental disabilities in Schuylkill County, this school provides academic instruction and educational activities nine months per year. The curriculum consists of educational, developmental and spiritual elements. Serving to enhance the basic program are the following offerings: adaptive physical education, speech and language therapy, medical services, psychological evaluations, vocational services and nursing services. SJC also provides instruction in such practical skills areas as computer literacy, cooking and music. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Aphasia, Apraxia, Arthritis, Asthma, Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, Cardiac Disorders, Conduct Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Discalculia, Dysgraphia, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, Emotional Disturbances, Epilepsy, Infantile Paralysis, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Differences, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Neurofibromatosis, Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder, Orthopedic/Neurological Disabilities, Pervasive Development Disorder, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Schizophrenia, Tourette’s Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury.
