St. John's Military School

PO Box 5020, Salina, KS 67402

St. John's was founded by Rt. Rev. Elisha Smith Thomas and a group of concerned Salina businessmen. Students must complete either the standard or the college preparatory curriculum, in addition to JROTC and religion. Both require units in language arts, math, science, social science, computer science, physical education and health, plus electives; the latter includes a mandatory foreign language. Elective courses are offered in such subjects as art, band, philosophy and industrial careers, among others. St. John's students participate in varsity athletics in high school, and a more limited range of sports is available for boys in grades 6-8. Cadets who do not compete in varsity athletics engage in a physical training program. Boys in all grades work on required community service projects. Each student attends religious services three times per week.
