St. Francis de Sales School for the Deaf

Serving profoundly deaf elementary and middle school children, St. Francis follows New York State curricular guidelines at all levels. The school's active learning approach features mediated learning lessons throughout the instructional day in all grades and subject areas. Early intervention services are in place for children from birth to age 3, while the preschool accommodates three- and four-year-olds. Parental involvement is integral to the program, as St. Francis encourages them to help formulate the student's educational plan, to observe the child in class and to participate in parent education programming. The school accepts the following conditions: Deafness.
