St. Andrew's College
15800 Yonge St, Aurora, Ontario, L4G 3H7 Canada
Located on a 110-acre campus 40 miles from Toronto, this boys' school prepares its students for competitive undergraduate programs in Canada, the United States and abroad. The middle school program (grades 6-8) emphasizes structure, creativity and physical activity. In addition to the standard middle school curriculum, boys have the opportunity to earn high school credit for ninth-grade math and comprehensive arts. Daily meetings with an advisor assist pupils with study techniques, exam preparation and time management. At the upper school level (grades 9-12), boys work toward the Ontario (Canada) Secondary School Diploma. During these years, SAC also offers a selection of Advanced Placement courses for qualified students. High schoolers meet weekly with an advisor to discuss academic and nonacademic matters. At all grade levels, each student participates in the laptop program, as St. Andrew's is completely wireless. To reinforce classroom learning and instill sound study habits for boarders, the school requires 90 minutes of supervised nightly study time for middle schoolers and two hours for upper schoolers; day pupils frequently spend time on campus into the evening as well. Guest speakers and field trips enhance classroom learning.
