At locations throughout Maine, Spurwink offers year-round residential and day services for children, adolescents and adults who have a developmental disability or autism, or who are functionally limited by emotional or behavioral difficulties. Programs are community based, with residential locations emphasizing a natural home setting. Day treatment takes place in small classes, where eclectic teaching methods focus on a dynamic understanding of the personality and social development of the students. The usual duration of enrollment is two years. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Autism, Conduct Disorder, Emotional Disturbances, Intellectual Disabilities, Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder, Psychosis, Schizophrenia.
