Springside Chestnut Hill Academy

500 W Willow Grove Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19118

SCH resulted from the 2011 merger of Springside School for girls (founded in 1879) and Chestnut Hill Academy for boys (established in 1861). The academy comprises single-gender lower schools (serving grades pre-K-5), single-gender middle schools (grades 6-8) and a coeducational upper school (grades 9-12). SCH continues to utilize both the Cherokee Street campus (which formerly served as the Springside location) and the West Willow Grove Avenue campus (which had operated as the Chestnut Hill location). Qualified juniors and seniors may select options of independent study or courses at area colleges. Students in grades 9-12 are provided with laptop computers for use in class. More than half of the school's graduates enter college with Advanced Placement credits.
