Spring Street International School
505 Spring St, Friday Harbor, WA 98250
This experiential school combines college preparation with travel and community service opportunities. As part of the curriculum, middle schoolers (grades 6-8) perform 25 hours of annual service and also travel in Washington State and to New York City and Washington, DC, while high schoolers (grades 9-12) spend four to eight weeks studying and doing service work in remote villages in Asia or Latin America. A four-week winterim in the middle school enables boys and girls to take enrichment courses in such areas as first aid, cooking, Chinese and technology. A small boarding program serves international students.
