Southbank International School

63-65 Portland Pl, London, W1B 1QR England

Founded by a group of British and American educators, Southbank has evolved over the years into an institution with three London locations: Southbank Kensington (in Notting Hill) serves pupils ages 3-11; Southbank Westminster (near Regent's Park) accepts students ages 11-16; and Southbank Fitzrovia (Conway St., W1T 6BN) enrolls boys and girls ages 16-18. The school conducts an individualized college preparatory curriculum for pupils from approximately 65 nations. Although English is the language of instruction, the school accommodates those boys and girls who arrive with little of no facility with the language. Numerous languages are part of the curriculum for older students both as foreign languages and as mother-tongue literature courses. Southbank follows all three International Baccalaureate programs (Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma). The school's city campuses enable pupils to take advantage of many learning opportunities outside of the classroom, among them visits to exhibitions, museums and galleries. Many graduates—regardless of their nationality—matriculate at British universities, while a significant number enroll at competitive American colleges.
