South Kent School
40 Bulls Bridge Rd, South Kent, CT 06785
South Kent was founded by Samuel S. Bartlett and Richard M. Cuyler with the help of Rev. Frederick H. Sill, founder and headmaster of Kent School. Mr. Bartlett and Mr. Cuyler, graduates of Kent, adopted the Kent ideal of the self-help system. The school's structured college preparatory curriculum places equal emphasis on essential academic skills and course content. Strong humanities, science and math programs are available, and Advanced Placement classes are open to qualified students. The school provides a full range of support services for those with different learning styles. The school organizes exchange programs with schools in France and the Czech Republic, and students may spend a winter term in the High Mountain Institute Semester program. Founded as an Episcopal school, South Kent maintains an active chapel program that meets the needs of students of all faiths. An extensive activities schedule includes dances and other social events with various girls' and coed schools.
