Founded by Rev. Dr. George Emerson Quaile on a hilltop campus that now spans 700 acres, Salisbury School offers a traditional curriculum that successfully prepares students for competitive colleges. Electives and Advanced Placement courses are available to juniors and seniors. An interdisciplinary program in grades 9-11 combines English, history and art instruction. Salisbury issues a laptop computer to each pupil. The school's entrepreneurial studies program enables boys to create and manage a student-run business. The Residential Life Program complements academics with dorm-based discussions, all-school meetings, speakers, seminars and events, all of which revolve around annual themes. A learning center offers support to students in need of additional help. Salisbury encourages all boys to participate in community service projects, and seniors fulfill a 15-hour service requirement. An active student entertainment committee plans gatherings with nearby girls' schools throughout the year. Athletics are extensive: Interscholastic sports are available at various levels, and recreational options are also part of the program.
