Saddle River Day School

147 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Saddle River, NJ 07458

Serving able, college-bound students from roughly 60 communities in New Jersey and New York State, this coeducational day school offers concentrated work in five major academic areas. Foreign language instruction consists of French and Spanish in grades K-12, and Latin in grades 8-12. Music and performing and visual arts offerings complement course work in the standard subjects. Honors and Advanced Placement courses are offered, and eligible seniors may participate in an independent project in the final term of the year. Small class size and a low student-teacher ratio are maintained. The extracurricular program includes field trips in the Metropolitan New York City area. In addition, there are publications and recreational and interest clubs. The school is actively involved in the North Jersey Cultural Council programs, the Academic Decathlon, the New Jersey Math League and the Cum Laude Society. The foreign language department sponsors a cultural trip abroad in the spring and conducts exchange programs with French and Spanish schools.
