Located on a historic, 84-acre estate that borders Narragansett Bay, Rocky Hill makes use of its waterfront facilities for various activities and conducts marine and environmental programs at all grade levels. Students in grades 5-12 utilize Harkness tables. Boys and girls in the upper school (grades 9-12) must have a laptop computer, while those in the middle school (grades 6-8) take part in a one-to-one iPad program. Elective courses, Advanced Placement classes, an SAT preparation course and a senior project program are available in the upper school, with both AP biology and AP environmental science enriched by the school's natural setting. Arts are emphasized, with specialized offerings provided in instrumental music, band, chorus, drama, drawing, painting, ceramics and sculpture. Upper school students accumulate 40 hours of required community service over four years.
