Robert Louis Stevenson School

24 W 74th St, New York, NY 10023

Derived from the merger of the Scoville School (established in 1882) and the Robert Louis Stevenson School (established in 1908), this school has been located at its present site since 1960. The Stevenson School accepts only bright underachievers, preparing them for high school graduation and college entrance and seeking to develop their organizational and study skills. The educational environment is designed to strengthen self-motivation, encouraging the fulfillment of each student's academic potential. Parental involvement is modified, and students are expected to complete homework assignments under school supervision and on their own initiative. The school takes advantage of the cultural opportunities of New York City through both curricular and extracurricular activities.
