Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School

Formed by the 1927 merger of Rabun Gap School and Nacoochee Institute, this school was established by Harvard graduate Andrew J. Ritchie to provide educational opportunities for children from the surrounding mountains. Rabun Gap now enrolls students from approximately 15 states and a dozen foreign countries. The academic program includes honors courses at all grade levels, as well as Advanced Placement courses in all major disciplines. All students work on campus, usually after school each afternoon. Among Rabun Gap's extracurricular activities are a comprehensive outdoor program and a farm program. Skiing is available at Georgia's only ski resort, located six miles from campus.
