Pembroke Hill School

400 W 51st St, Kansas City, MO 64112

Pembroke Hill was created in 1984 as the result of a merger of the Sunset Hill School for girls and the Pembroke-Country Day School for boys. Both predecessor schools were founded by Vassie Ward Hill and a group of progressive-minded parents. The school maintains a low student-teacher ratio and provides a variety of course options in all disciplines, including languages, science, math, computer, history, English, and the visual and performing arts. Independent study projects and Advanced Placement courses are also offered. An extended-day program is available. The school is located on two campuses less than a mile apart: the Wornall campus on West 51st Street for children in grades PS-5, and the Ward Parkway campus on State Line Road for students in grades 6-12.
