This elementary school enrolls children with language-based learning difficulties. Parkside's curriculum consists of three essential components: direct involvement and active participation in the classroom; supported communication methods, which incorporate such visual cues as sign language, symbols, pictures and photographs; and integrated, thematically organized hands-on learning experiences. Interventions address issues related to the child's social and emotional development, cognition, motor/sensory functioning and communication. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Aphasia, Apraxia, Asperger's Syndrome, Auditory Processing Disorders, Discalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Learning Differences, Nonverbal Learning Differences.
