Enrolling an ethnically diverse student body that is kept quite small, Parkmont employs a modular scheduling system consisting of five annual terms that reduces the pupil's academic load to three courses at a time and increases opportunities for teachers to incorporate experiential activities and field trips into the curriculum. Classes comprise multi-age groups of students with differing learning styles. At the high school level (grades 9-12), boys and girls devote 180 hours per year to internships that may involve one or two placements; one placement must be a community service project.
