Oralingua School for the Hearing Impaired
7056 S Washington Ave, Whittier, CA 90602
Oralingua's aural-oral program is based on the belief that a deaf child can learn to function effectively in a hearing environment. Through the development of residual hearing, meaningful language, understandable speech and strong cognitive skills, deaf children follow a state-approved curriculum. Classes are small (the student-teacher ratio is 3:1). Full parental participation is encouraged. A parent-infant tutorial program for children from birth to age 3 is also conducted. Oralingua operates a satellite campus in Escondido (760-294-0525). The school accepts the following conditions: Deafness.
