Located in the Canary Islands, Oakley follows the English National Curriculum while also emphasizing Spanish language and culture. Primary school students spend about 20 percent of their time studying Spanish and become bilingual by age 11. A second foreign language, either French or German, is added in secondary school, as is a Spanish-language social studies course. Students prepare for the IGCSE and A- and AS-level examinations. Overnight camping trips begin at age 5, and older student embark on environmental study trips. Fundraising and volunteer work are elements of the community service program.
