The academy's college preparatory curriculum emphasizes creative thinking and the arts. Middle school students (grades 6-8) develop basic skills in English, social studies, math and science, and choose from a variety of arts electives. The interdisciplinary high school program (grades 9-12) combines studies in language and literature with history, economics, philosophy and other subjects. Foreign languages offered typically include French, Spanish and Chinese. Conservatory-style arts courses, which take place both during and after school, include varied offerings in the visual, performing, media and literary arts. High schoolers complete 30 hours of required community service prior to graduation.
