Morning Star enrolls children who are unable to function in a regular classroom due to learning disabilities or related difficulties. During the primary years (ages 6-9), pupils attend self-contained classes; departmentalization and ability grouping are employed in the intermediate (ages 9-12) and junior high (ages 12-15) divisions. The individualized curriculum strives to develop maximum efficiency in academics and motor skills connected with those areas, and to improve students' self esteem. Applicants must undergo a psychological evaluation. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Apraxia, Auditory Processing Disorders, Discalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Learning Differences, Nonverbal Learning Differences, Speech/Languague Impairments, Traumatic Brain Injury.
