Monte Vista Christian School

2 School Way, Watsonville, CA 95076

Serving an international student body, this central California school emphasizes problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. The curriculum, which follows a modified block schedule, features honors and Advanced Placement course work in the upper grades. Monte Vista’s one-year English as a Second Language program serves students from other countries who have intermediate to advanced English skills. All pupils take part in Jan Term, a weeklong program at the beginning of the second semester. During this week, boys and girls take a minicourse or embark on a domestic or international excursion. To fulfill another graduation requirement, high school students (grades 9-12) complete 24 hours of annual community service.
